TIME TO FOCUS
Why is my recent work based on the human form?
An introduction to how my work is developing and where it is going...
For a while now I have been focusing my attention and developing my work using some of my best life drawings (that I do every week) as a starting point for new paintings. My latest work is about taking these new paintings far beyond traditional representation and pushing myself to think and work in much more abstract ways.
I have worked in many different styles over the years. Using both abstract and figurative painting to express myself. I have painted landscapes in the open air, drawn and painted urban cityscapes and streets. I have painted many portraits and also portraits of iconic figures. I've even painted interior settings such as pubs depicting musicians playing their instruments.
There are many more.
Now it's time to focus, and I'm choosing not to ignore this reoccurring theme in my work "the human form" But to go with it. My website has been stripped right back for this reason.
