TIME TO FOCUS
How my work is developing and where it is going...
Practising as an artist for nearly 25 years, my creative path has been a continuous evolution. Over the years, I have explored a wide array of styles and subjects to express myself, painting landscapes in the open air, capturing urban cityscapes and streets, painting portraits (including iconic figures), and rendering atmospheric interior settings like pubs alive with musicians.
Yet, through all of this exploration, one powerful, recurring theme has persistently called to me: the human form.
Rather than look away from it, it is time to focus. I am choosing to lean entirely into that gravitational pull. My website has been stripped right back for this reason, clearing away the noise to make space for a unified vision.
My latest work takes its starting point from my life drawings, a rigorous discipline I have maintained every single week since I left university. Moving between oils, acrylics, and watercolours, I take these foundational studies far beyond traditional representation. The goal now is to push myself to think and work in much more abstract ways, exploring the dynamic interplay between structure and freedom, and letting the raw energy of my studies guide me and my creations.
